Hi,
I'm 27 and have been experiencing floaters for about a month. As well as a faint haze covering a large portion of my vision that swirls around in bright light, I have a couple of small but very annoying grey floaters that flit around the very centre of each eye. They are especially annoying when trying to read a computer monitor (which I do all day long for my job!). The optician gave my retinas the all clear, and I'm trying to learn to ignore them, but am finding it tough. I've been encouraged to learn I'm not alone.
However I've noticed that the two prominent floaters seem to disappear by late afternoon (it's not just that I notice them less: I really can't find them, even looking intently at a bright white screen). They are back the next morning. Is this normal? I'd be surprised if they have slowly settled under the effects of gravity, as they stubbornly refuse to budge when I flick my eyes around in the morning. Their disappearance seems to be quite sudden. Any ideas?

I have noticed some kind of variation but maybe not similar to what you described. Sometimes my floaters are not as irritating as they can be at other times, but this is probably psychological. What I have noticed is this: when I look at, say, a newspaper with one eye closed, the amount of light the open eye is receiving seems to vary so that at times it is the left eye being better than the right eye, and the other way round.
