What a marvelous website! I have been reading with great interest all of your stories and information. Such a site was non-existent when I woke up one morning almost three years ago with a large floater in my right eye. I say large because my ophthalmologist could easily see it. He gave me the same line as many of you have heard “it might go away or learn to live with it.” They are harmless right? HA! Such cutting words from those never experiencing what we are forced to endure daily.
I knew when I heard “learn to live with it” that new treatments to prevent or solutions to rid us from these pesky pests would be slow coming. I now have renewed hope that there might be a safe and effective solution to our afflictions in the not too distant future. I am not convinced that the treatments I have read about on your site are the answer for me yet as they seem rather risky, but they are moving in the right direction.
I am 50 years young, live in the states, and have great empathy for those younger posters plight in dealing with these unwanted guests. I look forward to networking with you all in the future. Best wishes to all in your continuing mission of ignoring the moving internal clouds or “eye amoebas” that keep ruining our views.

Hello Shar and welcome,
Like you I have hope a viable solution for everyone is in the not so distant future. For some the FOV with its cataract risk and expense is the way to go for now; for others with certain types of floaters the laser is found to be beneficial.
This board appears to be the second most popular floater board on the web, and best laid out if you ask me, and is still growing.
