hi my name is itai, 29 years old from Israel, and i suffer from floaters for 2 years. The floaters exist in both eyes. My left floater is bigger like a web and my right floater is like squiggly line. Both floaters are not exactly in my vision axis, but when moving my eyes i see them very clearly and i find it very annoying and frustrating. Like all of you when i contact my eye doctor he told me that there is nothing to do about it, but i'm determined to find a solution. Can you describe your floaters too? Do you consider/recommend laser operation ? maybe together we can find solution to it

Hi itai, Sorry to hear about your problem with floaters, I have them too in both eyes and I find it very hard to function everyday. I am seriously considering a vitrectomy, although my doctor does not recomend it, due to the risks involved, but I am willing to take the chance so i can get my life back. My doctor said that there is a 5% chance of getting a catarat or other complications, though he said that catarat surgery (if I needed it) is a very common, low risk operation. I am 34 years old from California, USA. I found that the biggest problem for me was to explain the deggre and the toll that floaters play in my life to the doctors, because most doctors look at you like you are overeacting and some even smile and treat you like a kid. That is the most frustraiting part. I hope that there is somebody out there working on a simple solution to this terrible ailment we suffer from. It is incredible that there is no simple tratment!! But I do think that the medical community is well aware of how many people are affected by floaters and hopefully good news will come our way soon.... Bye for now Carlos

Welcome! Really strange but the way you describe your floaters, it's just my situation. A web-sort-thing in my left eye, one big "hair with knots" in the right eye. Well I'm 25 years old, and have my floaters for 2.5 months now. I don't think laser is a decent solution ... they can't "destroy" all the floaters. Just shoot them in tiny pieces. If I can't get used to them in a year / 1.5 years, I'm going to consider FOV seriously. If I can't live with those things, something has to happen ... I don't want to let them ruin the rest of my life.
