I was watching the Science Channel last night and the program was on medical microbots. NASA is trying to develop nanometer (slightly smaller then a blood cell) machines to detect and fight diseases for the astronauts that will be going on the Mars mission in the 2020 window of opportunity. This sounds like the future cure for floaters. The little buggers could keep our vitreous clear of opacities. Maybe by the end of my lifetime I'll finally have floater free vision.

Hello,
I am a researcher and I would like to ask people to do a simple test to support my theory that a bacterial infection is the cause of most eye floaters.
test: Take a strong acting fluid like alcohol or citronella oil and apply this to the palm of your hands. Rub gently and see if dark little fibers or specks appear. If not, wash and dry your hands. Let them dry and look with an electric light against a black field for the presence of transparent little hairs to appear on top of the skin.
If positive, You may be infected with a new bacterium.
Please send me the outcome of your home test.

Sincerely,
Daniel Bell

I was just wondering, how far along has nanotechnology gotten today? Have we actually created nanorobots or are we still experimenting?
