Acoustic Treatment

While acoustic treatment has been listed on the Eyefic site, I just need to stress that it's not an existing treatment and will probably never become a treatment option.

Reading some e-mails it seems that acoustic treatment is not a realistic option because getting rid of the floaters may also damage the retina (if the floaters can be oblierated at all).

However, there have been new developments including using a needle to 'pick out a floater'. Here are the links:

I wonder if ultra sonics could be applied to homogenize floaters or perhaps to move them aside out of the vision path by agitating the surrounding vitreous material?

A low power application would need to be developed to insure that the retina would not be damaged.

High power ultra sonics is used to homogenize industrial liquid products and of course to clean metal, such as jewelry.
