Dear eyefloaters information center,
I perform 25G vitrectomy for floaters with great succes. Until now I do not have any complication and the patient outcome is excellent. Anyway a vitrectomy has the generic risk of retinal detachment and endophthalmitis. I believe that with this new technique these risks are lower than using the 20 ga, but this must be proved with a large number of eyes. until now I performed about 100 vitrectomies for different pathologies with 25 ga without any complication. Lucky??? regards Fabio Patelli
