Hi:
I never knew this sort of Website existed.
I've had eye floaters forever. I'm 40 now but remember being a young child playing with the darkest floater in my right eye. I'd make it circle pictures on the wall, doors, etc. - or I'd try to get it directly in the middle of my vision so I could look at it. It's currently just a little to the right of my vision. However, I have so many floaters in both my eyes, I can't count them.
My family had no idea what I was talking about when I was a child and I guess over they years I have learned to ignore them - but they are always with me.
Final about 10 years ago I went to an eye doctor who examined my eyes and he saw them bouncing all over my eyes. He informed me that the floaters were probably driving me crazy - dah...
Anyway, he told me there was really nothing he could do other than to prescribe me glasses tineted the color of the floaters. The glasses actually help some especially after looking at a computer screen all day long.
My question is this - now that I've found this website and done a little reading, I see some other possible issues and problems. I do on occasion have "sparkles". Additionally, when I go to bed at night and my eyes are shut, I see halo type ghosts floating across my vision. It seems to be both eyes, but I can't say for sure. They start at the left, move slowly to the right, and then abruptly stop and start again in the same spot - they're halo like multi-color ghostly cloud like visions. It's like a continueous movie loop to plays over and over. It doesn't happen every night, say once every week or two.
Are these all related? Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Art

OK, I found out that my local hospital has this bioptron machine, I had my first reatment today. Duration is at least 10 days. So all I can say is wow My vision improved just after the first session. One session lasts for up to 20 minutes. The floaters I have weve un noticeable in bright daylight, it was a sunny day today So all I can say it really helps, don't know how nobody recommended me this treatment before. Especialy since I've seen a lot of eye doctors, 20 at least. Will keep you posted.

That's great!. Where do you live? Is it expensive? How bad were your floaters? What other problems does this treat? Where is the light aimed? Sorry for all the questions. I love to hear positive stories. Please keep us updated.

Update: My floaters seems to have reduced, at least I do not notice them like before treatment was done. I do not if they are gone or I just do not see them but this treatment helped for sure I had total of 12 procedures from bioptron 2 machine lasting 20minutes each once a day. For best results I was told I need to get 2 procedures a day but I wanted to make sure it works, and it really does

1./ What should we do (open or close our eyes) when we apply this light therapy directly on our face/eyes please?
2./ I noticed there are many different colour filters which are used for different treatment purposes, so which colour filter did you use in the hospital when you apply this kind of treatment please?
3./ How long per (time/session) should we apply this light therapy to get the best results please? (as you said you applied 2 times a day, and 20 minutes per time.)
Thank you a lot. I hope that I will recieve your reply soon.
Best regards.

Well, I just been busy with my studies, I need to defend a thesis for a degree. I got the treatment done in my local hospital. At the hospital they said that bioptron is available in all European union since it's been certified as a medical device, and has all acreditations. Don't know if you can find it in US, but you can contact www.zepter.com and ash them about this. Treatment was without using any filters, they are used only on bioptron compact, and I was treated with bioptron 2. You keep your eys closed and use bioptron device from 12 centimeters. Do this treatment for 15 - 20 minutes two times a day. It really helped.

Thanks for replying. I couldn't find any information about bioptron regarding floaters. Who recommended this? Did you get the treatment specifically for floaters or was it just a positive side effect? Are there any websites which give information about this treatment being used to treat floaters? Thanks again.
