Hi! I'm new here. I am 17 years old and from Hong Kong. I've been suffering from floaters since I was 15. At first it was just in my right eye, but gradually some got in my left eye too! I went to see the doctor before, but they just said I'm fine. Sometimes I think I'm too paranoid, but those darn floaters really bother me! I think one of the reason I got floaters is that I study too must without resting my eyes. There's loads of homework in my school, and I just can't find the time to give my eyes a break!!

The best way is a vitrectomy surgery

Hello there Moccasin,
I have heard of many people noticing floaters at a very young age.
Mine appeared at 16 and they gradually increased until they became very annoying. However the good news is they increased to a point then stopped increasing and I can cope with them better after some time even although they are still very annoying.

I am 24 from singapore.. I had flaoters 2 years ago.. i feel so depress, frustrated unhappy and dread waking up every morning to see all the cobwebs and lines swirling about. I started to hate going out under the sun and keep shuting myself at home.. sometimes i ask God why dhas it got to be me..and i so envy those who have perfect eyesight and floaters free.. i ask around all my frens if they have my problem but none of them have and that makes me feel i am a weirdo with such a kind of problem that nobody have. I am still learning to cope with them and finding natural remedies to cure my floaters.

I remember having them when I was quite young, maybe 9. Now I am 38 and the last few months they have gotten worse. They are there all the time. Sometimes I feel like going crazy. The other night I just cried and cried. I am so frustrated!! If I stay busy I can try not to focus on them but they are always there. Anybody have any success with any kind of treatments

I have also had floaters since I was young, remember playing baseball and seeing floaters in the sky. However, they didn't bother me until recently when I took medicine that made my eyes dry. I think this caused me to focus on my eyes and notice the floaters. I imagine that if I stay busy they will eventually fade even if the floaters remain.
However, I'd love to hear about treatments (other than lasers) or methods that people have used to be floater free.

I think one of the reason I got floaters is that I study too must without resting my eyes. There's loads of homework in my school, and I just can't find the time to give my eyes a break!! Hey man your not alone. I was also 15 when I saw my first floater and it was also in my right eye. A few days later I saw one in my left eye as well. From then on they continued to get worse. I'm now 23 and I still see these d**n things. I continued to see more and more floaters over the next 5 years. When I hit 20 is when I stopped noticing any new floaters. To be honest I couldn't tell you if I get a new floater or not, because I already see so many. I know how everyone out there feels, floaters can really bring a person down. I never leave the house with out my sunglasses. Plus I have my house so dark inside I feel like I'm living in a cave. It's been eight long hard years since I saw my first one. I hope some day they find a quick easy way to get rid of them..
