Hello floaters sufferers.
I have disturbing floaters for 1 years now, and I can't say they are fading. On the contrary, they are becoming longer and more annoying.
Well, as many here, I don't want to stay just cursing life for beeing nasty with me. I'm trying to understand why this happens to me now, and what can be done to recover a clear sight.
Well here is a thought I'm currently developping. Many of us are quite young (I'm 30), despite doctors say floaters are common when aging. Well aging seems to occurs a little bit too early !
Many of us are often in front of screens. I play video-games since I'm 5 years old. And now, I'm a CG artist. So I spend about 8 hours a day in front of a screen. Add lots a hours watching TV, my are for a long time over exposed to CRT ravages.
I think floaters are the result of the degeneration of the eye. Many things is our modern lives are liable to favor this degeneration : stress, polution, junk food, lack of sleeping...
Exposure to CRT is one good candidate too.
Moreover, as most of us are living indoor, our eyes are lacking sunlight. Neon tubes and incandescent lamps do not emit in the full range of radiation of the sun.
We are made to live outside. Our eyes are made to receiving sunlight all day long.
In an organism, an organ that doesn't serve atrophy itself, or degenerate.
I think our floaters are due to this addition of aggravating factors. I am interesting in Bates' theory about sun gazing. This could be a solution. I'm trying to read valuable testimony of people whose floaters reduced of disapeared with this kind of therapy.
I'm interesting also in color therapy. As sungazing isn't possible every day, and not very easy to practice, there must be other effective ways to make our floaters to lessen. I think about the thread posted by Quatermax :

Wearing sunglasses help to bear the floaters outside. However, I think it contribute in our "light starving". It is a "dirty circle". Less light leads to less retinal stimulation, so the retina degenerate faster and floaters multiply.
Some colors must helps to stimulate gently the eyes so they recover from degeneration.
I've decided to sunbath as soon as I can. I"m not talking about to endanger my eyes when sun is high or near the see. But I'm trying to make the most of natural light enter in my eyes during day. When I go outside, I remove my spectacles. Because spectacles filter sun's UV. I know that to much UV is harmful for the eyes. But we need some. When sun is not to high, in the morning and in the evening, UV are less harmful.
I will see if it helps.
