I saw the ad from the Cole Eye Institute at the top of this web site and I hope someone watches it and can report about it. I will be working that day. It says it is on FRI. April 29 at12:15 pm EDT at www.or-live.com/clevelandclinic/1335 It is supposed to be about the latest in retinal surgery techniques. Maybe there will be something about floater removal ( although I doubt it ).

I watched the replay and it was gruesome. The poor woman had big eye problems. But it did talk about great improvement in the 25 gauge instruments. This will help in the future. The extreme manipulation of the eyeball during the surgery is something. An fov would be nothing compared to this. If only they can solve the cataract problem. The patients problems seem to stem from diabetes and she had a vitrecomy for floaters but then sufferd a retinal detatchment and cataract. However it sounds as if she had several surgerys previous to this one. Also a drug to dissolve the vitreous would help to prevent retinal detatchment.

A little gruesome, yes. The video quality was quite good.
