i saw this on your site and i have had the same idea! and it`s probably more safety than the laser ! but we don't know if the retina could be damaged by those sound waves .... i don't know it! perhaps someone could ask his MD ... i think this is a very good idea ! but i even think eye drops are possible ! ` there are already some eyedrops which can go to the eyebackground why not drops for floaters? cya !

Yea drops sound very interesting. There is also an article about injection acid into the eye. However that also has its risks such as infection. However, what confuses me is - injecting a needle is too risky, but sticking a vitrectomy sucker-cutter into your eye isn't?

i think it`s not very risky if the needle is clear and small ! i just heared of some eye drops which can be helpful for floaters! but i heared there`s iod inside and i don`t know if that`s good for the eye...

ah yeah but the risk with the needle isn`t as high as the risk of a vitrectomy because it`s only an injection and not sucking out the whole eye ! with an injection you won`t get a cataract or something like that u know !

Yea actually they have experimented injecting hyaluronic acid into the eyes of rats (poor animals ), but they did note a decrease in floaters.

i know! but believe it or not i just heard of some eye drops (!!)which liquifies the vitreous slowly ! the other stuff is away and the eye automatically fills it with its own water ! sounds very very good ! but you have a little risk for retinal detachment! but i think that`s ok !even if this happens , it can be treated with laser or 5 other methods! don`t worry ! many people suffer and there will be a cure ! enjoy your life and don`t waste your time too much on these things !life is too short ! i am SURE there will be a cure ! believe me u will get rid of these things ! and perhaps your floaters settle down because of the gravity ! my mother said she sees less floaters because of gravity! cya i hope i could give u some hope ! "don`t worry be happy " (u should listen to this song whenever you think u can`t take it anymore!

Sorry that it took me so long to reply -- been a bit busy lately. About the Vitrase -- I think it dissolves the vitreous - but does it dissolve the floaters too? That was the thing that I have been trying to figure out for a while The thing with this forum is that it's really only a supplement to floater tlak -- I never intended to take credit for Suzzane's great work with her board Anyway, g2g for now Take care

i don`t know if vitrase could help but i think the idea of liquifiying the whole vitreous would be the best treatment because u don`t get a cataract and other things like that! i will send an email to ISTA to find out if vitrase would work for floaters ! perhaps u could send an email ,too ?!? cya
